Free Family Events Coming to Harpenden This Summer
As the warmer months arrive, Harpenden is once again preparing for a fantastic summer of community events, with a packed calendar of free entertainment for all ages throughout 2026.
From live music and outdoor theatre to family festivals, funfairs and community celebrations, something is happening almost every week across Harpenden Common, Rothamsted Park, Lydekker Park and Batford.
Highlights include the ever-popular Classics on the Common, Friday Sounds, the Highland Gathering, Batford Community Festival and Art on the Common, alongside children’s entertainment, teddy bears’ picnics, street performances and seasonal family activities.
Many of the events are completely free to attend and offer a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the town’s green spaces, support local organisations and spend time with friends, neighbours and family throughout the summer holidays.
